Tesla announced its financial results for the second quarter of 2025. The company generated $22.5 billion in revenue during this period, a 12% decrease compared to the same period last year. Net profit similarly declined to $1.17 billion. The annual profit decline was 16%.

Despite this decline compared to the second quarter of last year, Tesla presented a more positive picture than the first quarter. The company increased its revenue by 19% compared to the first quarter of 2025. Net profit increased by 286% during the same period. This recovery was recorded as a positive development in the quarter-over-quarter comparison.

Revenues from the automotive segment played a decisive role in Tesla’s financial performance. Revenues in this segment, which constitutes its core business, fell from $19.9 billion in the same quarter last year to $16.6 billion.

This represents a 16.6% decrease. Vehicle deliveries totaled 384,122 units in the second quarter. While the number of deliveries decreased by 13% year-over-year, they increased by 14% compared to the previous quarter.

Tesla’s second-quarter data shows signs of recovery compared to the first quarter, but the company appears to be on a downward trend on an annual basis. Factors contributing to this trend include increased competitive pressure from Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers, policies to withdraw electric vehicle incentives in the United States, and rising tariffs in the global market.

Elon Musk’s statements that he will once again dedicate more time to Tesla remain a hot topic following the second-quarter data release. Musk recently announced his departure from his position in the Trump administration.

However, Musk’s public political pronouncements have sparked a consumer backlash, particularly in the US domestic market. Analyst reports suggest this situation has impacted Tesla sales.
