Huawei has added a new member to its family of open-ear, clip-on TWS (True Wireless Stereo) headphones, the FreeClip 2. These new headphones, the successor to the original FreeClip model, stand out with several significant upgrades. They stand out with their Harmony AI Ear Assistant, dual-motor drivers for improved sound, and lightweight design. Here’s everything you need to know about the FreeClip 2.
Huawei FreeClip 2 Comes with Improved Sound Quality
Huawei has retained the ring-shaped clip-on design of the second-generation FreeClip. Each earbud weighs just 5.1 grams, making it lighter than its predecessor and comfortable for extended use. The device is IP57 water and dust resistant, while the charging case is IP54 protected. The FreeClip 2 is equipped with dual 10.8mm dynamic drivers and uses Bluetooth 6 technology that supports SBC, AAC, and L2HC.

One of the biggest innovations is the third-generation artificial intelligence chip and NPU (Neural Processing Unit) that powers HarmonyOS AI. This gives users access to useful features like real-time translation, voice assistant, voice-based navigation notifications, and device control. It also features spatial audio support, adaptive volume controls, and a triple-microphone setup for noise reduction during calls.
Other notable features of the headset include fall detection within 50 meters, proximity-based calling and loss alerts, up to 9 hours of audio playback on a single charge (up to 38 hours with the charging case), and fast charging support. Offering 3 hours of battery life with just a 30-minute charge, the device is designed for heavy users.
Huawei has introduced the FreeClip 2 in three colors: Blue, Sand White, and Black. Announced in China for 1,299 yuan (approximately $182), the headphones will go on pre-sale on October 14 and be available starting October 20.
