Huawei has expanded its smart home product portfolio with two new door lock models. The smart locks, called Smart Door Lock 2 Pro and Smart Door Lock 2 Ultra, stand out with their advanced biometric recognition technologies and security features.
Huawei announced its new smart door lock models
The new models have a 3D artificial intelligence-supported facial recognition system that can detect faces even in low light. This system can recognize users’ facial features that may change with age. Huawei also introduced its first-developed palm vein recognition technology to these locks.

This technology offers a secure alternative authentication method for users of different ages and skin tones. The locks come with multiple opening options. The system, which can be opened with fingerprint, password, NFC, mobile application or traditional key, provides flexibility to the user.
The 2K resolution smart binocular camera instantly records movements around the door and works in sync with Huawei devices. A 10,000 mAh battery is used on the power supply side. This battery offers a usage period of 3 to 5 months depending on the model.
The devices also have backup power support for situations such as power outages. Data security is provided by an EAL5+ certified security chip that offers local encryption support.
The company has opened the Smart Door Lock 2 series for pre-order. Prices start at $448, while the fully equipped Ultra model costs $518. So what do you think about these devices? You can share your opinions with us in the comments section below.
