Huawei is preparing to launch a second model in the same form factor after the first tri-fold smartphone it introduced last year. The company’s new generation tri-fold device will meet users in the second half of 2025. According to leaked information, Huawei has decided to continue its presence in this segment after the first step it took with the Mate XT.
Huawei will come out with its tri-fold phone
The new model is said to be largely similar to its predecessor in terms of design. The device’s screen will again have a flexible panel structure that can be folded in two places. Thanks to this structure, it is planned to offer the user a screen experience close to tablet size. However, the real innovations will be made on the hardware side.

It is stated that the processor that will power the device will be a new Kirin chipset developed with the N-1 production process. The model name is expected to be Kirin 9020. As will be remembered, the Kirin 9010 processor was included in the first tri-fold model. It is expected that the new processor will bring improvements especially in energy efficiency and performance balance.
It was reported that significant changes will be made on the camera side. Technical details have not yet been shared, but it is stated that Huawei is focusing on software optimizations to improve photo quality in this model.
Huawei’s first tri-fold model, the Mate XT, stood out with its design and the seamless experience offered by HarmonyOS in screen transitions. The new model is expected to be built on this foundation and launched with more advanced hardware and camera systems.
