The silent revolution in electric cars is reshaping the in-car experience beyond zero emissions and whisper-quiet engines. As the rumble of gasoline engines fades, automakers and technology companies are focusing on a new front: audio. Huawei is elevating this experience with its electric car, the Maextro S800. Here are the details.
The Maextro S800 features the Huawei Sound Ultimate system
This transformation is clearly evident in the new electric vehicle, the Maextro S800. The vehicle boasts a powerful sound system called the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series. With decades of experience in consumer electronics and acoustics, Huawei developed this system to create a listening environment rivaling the finest concert halls.
Since 2012, Huawei has been investing heavily in audio technologies and has built a strong engineering team combining hardware and software expertise. The goal of the Huawei Sound Ultimate Series is simple: to reproduce music exactly as the artist intended.

Lars Goller, Huawei’s Chief Automotive Sound and Acoustics Consultant, described this philosophy as “creating the extraordinary phantom effect of sitting right in the middle of where the music is created.” Its debut in the ultra-luxury Maextro S800 sedan marks the beginning of a new era for audio systems developed in China, aiming to outperform established global competitors.
The Huawei Sound Ultimate Series features a 43-speaker configuration, delivering an ultra-surround sound experience that envelops and immerses you. The 2,920 watts of power from the dual amplifiers deliver powerful and impactful sound that can be felt. Rear seat passengers experience an extra layer of sensory experience thanks to 4D soundboards that vibrate in sync with music and video content.
The sound system includes innovative features that go beyond simple audio playback. For example, the Crystal Star Ring Diffuser, which rises from the dashboard when the doors are opened, is a striking centerpiece. Ambient lighting pulses in sync with the music, creating a visual feast.
For deep, clear bass, Huawei rotated the traditional door woofer 90 degrees to develop the Tangential Force Woofer. This unique layout reduces panel vibration, ensuring low-frequency sounds are heard without unwanted rattle. For even deeper bass, the patented Dual Diaphragm Subwoofer utilizes the entire cabinet area to deliver a powerful, layered bass performance.
The Huawei Sound Ultimate Series introduces industry-first independent sound zone technology. Using proprietary sound field control algorithms, the system acts like an internal silencer, providing 30 dB of isolation between the front and rear seats.
This means that while front seat occupants can listen to one sound source, those in the rear can enjoy completely different content with virtually no interference. The system also includes 10 ceiling channels and Huawei’s spatial audio tracking model, which helps pinpoint sounds.
In addition to all these features, the Maextro S800 also utilizes AI-powered “sound-to-light” technology, which translates the rhythm and emotion of a song into a dynamic light show across the ambient interior lighting. This creates a richer, more emotional atmosphere where the music isn’t just heard, it’s seen. The entire system is powered by a HarmonyOS-based ecosystem that provides a seamless and connected experience.
