Geely has taken a step to strengthen its claim in the luxury electric vehicle market. The model named Geely Galaxy Starshine 8 was officially launched in China. The company is positioning the model as ‘the world’s next generation luxury B+ class plug-in hybrid saloon’.

Galaxy Starshine 8; It is a vehicle of remarkable size with a length of 5018 mm, a width of 1918 mm and a height of 1480 mm. With its 2928 mm wheelbase, it also offers a large interior volume. It also displays an assertive stance in its class with its weights of 1908 kg and 1950 kg, which vary according to the equipment level.

One of the highlights of Starshine 8 is its advanced autonomous driving capabilities. Thanks to the roof-mounted LiDAR sensor, the vehicle has Level 2.9 intelligent driving assistant support. On the exterior, details such as fastback style, hidden door handles and slim headlights give the vehicle a sophisticated look.
It is powered by Geely’s NordThor EM-P plug-in hybrid system. This system combines a 1.5T engine with a maximum power of 120 kW (161 hp) and an electric motor with a maximum power of 160 kW (215 hp). This combination enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km/h.
The standard version of the Starshine 8 features an 18.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack developed by CATL, offering an electric range of 104 km. In the upper equipment level, the range increases to 161 km with a 27.69 kWh battery pack. The total range of the vehicle is around 1200 km.
In the interior, users are greeted by the Flyme Auto smart cockpit system powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.
In February, the company sold 204,910 vehicles, an 84 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. The Geely Galaxy brand achieved an increase of 288 per cent with 76,132 vehicle sales. Total sales of the Geely Galaxy brand between January and February reached 169,677 units, an increase of 185 per cent compared to the previous year.
