Hyundai is expanding its electric vehicle range with a new model. The company introduced its new electric SUV model Elexio, which was developed independently of the IONIQ series and designed exclusively for the Chinese market, in Shanghai.
Hyundai announced its electric SUV model Elexio
The new model will be produced in China in partnership with Beijing Hyundai. Elexio is preparing to hit the roads with a different design approach than the brand’s current IONIQ models. While there are thin LED headlights consisting of four modules on the front face, a wide LED light strip and a bumper with sporty details draw attention at the bottom.

Elexio’s side profile is also equipped with striking details. Wide fenders, dual-tone rims and a roof line that slopes downward with a flat slope towards the back give the model a unique character. The hidden door handles used together with the pillars compatible with the body complete the design integrity.

A more dynamic design language has been adopted in the rear section. The design located in the continuation of the D pillar combines with the stop lamps to create an uninterrupted light line. In this section, the glass surface is positioned between the LED stop lights, while the word “Elexio” is written in large fonts in the middle of the trunk lid.
Hyundai Elexio is built on the E-GMP platform, which the brand prefers in its electric models. Technical details such as battery capacity have not yet been announced. However, according to the CLTC test norms valid in China, it has been shared that the vehicle will offer a driving range of up to 700 kilometers.
