The Arizona Department of Gaming (ADG) has introduced its first statewide Public Education Campaign to combat illegal gambling and protect consumers. The initiative focuses on promoting safe, regulated gaming while providing tools to identify unauthorized operators.
Fighting Illegal Gambling With Public Service Announcements

The campaign features Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in English and Spanish across TV, radio, print, and digital channels. These PSAs explain how to recognize licensed gaming operators in Arizona, outline the benefits of regulated gaming, and highlight community contributions funded by legal gambling. Each announcement also promotes the 1-800-NEXT STEP helpline for confidential, 24/7 problem gambling support.
The Check Your Bet Resource
As part of the effort to reduce illegal gambling, ADG launched the “Check Your Bet” webpage (gaming.az.gov/checkyourbet). This online tool includes searchable lists and interactive maps of authorized tribal casinos, licensed event wagering platforms, and fantasy sports operators. It also details approved horse racing tracks, off-track betting locations, and advanced deposit wagering providers.
Visitors can take a confidential self-screening quiz, request voluntary self-exclusion from tribal casinos, and report suspected illegal gambling activities. They can also file consumer complaints directly with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office.
A Broader Push for Safe Gaming
“Illegal and unregulated gaming continues to grow,” said Jackie Johnson, ADG Director. “Our campaign empowers Arizonans to verify licensed operators and find help when needed.”
Arizona offers a range of regulated gaming options, including tribal casinos, fantasy sports, event wagering, and parimutuel betting. Through oversight, licensing, and enforcement, ADG has maintained gaming integrity for over 30 years. The campaign will run through March 2026 to ensure public awareness remains high.
