For those who don’t know, DRAGON , which has made a name for itself lately , is a technology that can remotely stop any civil/military vehicle containing electronic circuits with electromagnetic signals. This means that it is very important for the security of the country.
ASELSAN General Manager Ahmet Akyol shared the latest test images of DRAGON in the presentation made within the scope of SAHA MBA Senior Bureaucrat and Sector Leaders Training. When we look at the video, we see that the DJI MINI model drone used in the test lost its balance and fell to the ground after the DRAGON was activated.
How does ASELSAN EJDERHA work?
Developed by ASELSAN, DRAGON is a system that can emit high-power electromagnetic (EM) waves over a certain period of time by being equipped with a special directional antenna and reflector set. These high-power microwave sources target electronic devices, preventing them from working, causing them to malfunction, or rendering them completely dysfunctional.
EJDERHA has the ability to remotely stop civilian and military vehicles with electronic systems and air targets with electromagnetic signals in tactical operations in the field and at the entrance and exit points of important facilities. This feature provides an effective countermeasure against improvised explosive devices, unmanned aerial vehicles and other electronic systems frequently used by terrorists.
Additionally, DRAGON stands out as a distinctive solution powered by modern technologies for convoy protection and on-the-go operations. This system, which can be integrated into tactical wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, can be operated in both manned and remote-controlled unmanned modes. This provides flexibility of use in various field scenarios.
