Insta360, known for its action cameras, has expanded its product range. The company has announced its first wireless microphone model, the Insta360 Mic Air. Mic Air, which stands out against established competitors in the field such as Rode, is equipped with features specifically for Insta360’s own camera ecosystem. The product was developed to meet users’ needs for audio recording in the field.
Insta360 announces its first wireless microphone
Mic Air weighs only 7.9 grams and can connect directly to Insta360 X5 and Ace Pro 2 cameras. This connection does not require an additional apparatus or converter. The microphone can be easily attached to clothes thanks to the magnetic apparatus on it and offers a practical structure for quick use in the field.

The device records audio at 48kHz 24-bit quality. The built-in noise cancellation system and the wind-blocking feather that comes out of the box are among the details aimed at improving audio quality, especially in outdoor shooting.
The microphone’s technical features include a usage time of up to 10 hours and a connection distance of up to 300 meters. These values provide the user with wide freedom of movement in shooting with action cameras. The product is currently fully compatible only with the X5 and Ace Pro 2 models. The company stated that support will be offered for other models in the future.
Mic Air is offered for sale with a price tag of $ 49.99 in the basic package. The version with a USB Type-C adapter offered for mobile device users is sold for $ 69.99. This version makes functions such as mute and noise cancellation control available directly from the adapter. In addition, the remote start video recording feature is also activated when used with the adapter.
This function only works on certain Insta360 cameras and Android devices with an adapter. The company announced that it will provide Lightning adapter support and compatibility with other Insta360 camera models with updates it will release in the coming months.
This step taken by Insta360 into the microphone market shows that the company will expand its product range not only in terms of image but also audio equipment. Mic Air draws attention with its design that appeals directly to professional users and its in-house compatibility features.
