Instagram continues to take steps to improve the user experience. With the latest update, users can now pin comments on their own posts. This new feature garnered attention when Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri explained that it was implemented following a user’s suggestion. Mosseri emphasized the importance of social media feedback.
Instagram Will Allow Pinned Comments
Prior to this minor change, two major features were also being discussed: Maps and Resharing. The “Map” feature was accessible directly from Direct Messages, allowing users to see their friends’ current locations and tagged locations on a map.

Instagram aims to increase social interaction with this feature by calling for “Join your friends on Map.” Users can only share their location with trusted contacts and can change these settings at any time. Location information disappears after the user hasn’t opened the app for 24 hours.
The “Resharing” feature allows users to share others’ public posts with their followers. With this new feature, reshared content appears in followers’ feeds and is stored in a dedicated tab on the user’s profile.
However, for content to be reshared, the original creator must grant permission. These features are part of Instagram’s efforts to make the platform more dynamic and interactive.
