Instagram is adding a new way for users to interact with each other. Images shared on Twitter showed that a video notes feature is on the way for Instagram. With this feature, you will be able to leave notes to your followers or friends that will be visible for 24 hours.
The era of video notes for Instagram begins
According to recent screenshots, Instagram has started testing video notes, similar to text or voice notes. With this feature, users will be able to get more engagement by leaving video notes on their profile. Video notes will appear at the top of the user’s profile and will last for 24 hours.
The new feature is expected to be slightly different from the video notes offered on WhatsApp. Currently, you can send notes directly in the chat on the messaging app. On Instagram, this option will be available publicly through the profile.
Video notes seem to be especially preferred by influencers. With this feature, users will be able to express themselves or interact quickly with their followers. The fact that the notes are permanent for 24 hours will ensure that these interactions will be daily.
Video notes are still in the development phase and there is no official launch date. However, an image that surfaced on Twitter shows that the design phase is complete and will soon be available.
In recent years, the social media platform has expanded beyond photo sharing to include messaging, live streaming, long videos, shopping and TikTok-like Reels. Video notes seem to be a part of this innovation.
