Taking the first major step in this direction, the company Twitter introduced a new subscription system. Meta seems to be following suit. Starting from the past months, Meta began selling blue checkmarks for a fee. Naturally, this led to encountering more verified accounts.
A screenshot shared by software developer Alessandro Paluzzi, who discovered new features through reverse engineering, reveals that Meta will start showing verified accounts more frequently on Instagram, similar to what Twitter does.
Threads, Meta's latest social media venture, has introduced a new feature that will increase engagement with Instagram.
According to the information shared by Paluzzi, Meta will add a new feed to Instagram that will only display posts from verified accounts. This innovation emerged from the source codes of versions v296.0.0.0.16 for Android and v295.0 for iOS.
After this new feature came to light, Instagram stated in its announcement that they were not working on such an innovation. However, according to various sources, Meta is conducting some work to sell more blue checkmarks.
So, although the company has denied this feature, the possibility of it not happening is not zero. We will see this unfold together in the coming times.
