Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, in a recent YouTube interview, stated that in the new era, we will be able to chat with Instagram celebrities through artificial intelligence. With this update from Instagram, even if celebrities themselves don’t respond to your DMs, you’ll receive responses from AI bots and continue the conversation. Here are the details:
Instagram Celebrities Chatting via Artificial Intelligence
Instagram is introducing an interesting concept in the field of artificial intelligence. Despite similar features found in AI models like ChatGPT and Gemini Advanced, Instagram has decided to integrate a new AI model that mimics celebrities into the social media platform. Mark Zuckerberg discussed the capabilities of a new feature called AI Studio in a recent interview.
With the AI Studio feature, content creators and Instagram celebrities can create their own AI-powered chatbots. These bots will be designed to reflect the style, personality, and character of influencers and celebrities. They will provide logical and rational responses to DMs from users and may also offer various content recommendations.
Mark Zuckerberg mentioned that this feature is currently limited to a select number of Instagram influencers and content creators in the United States, as it is still in development.
To ensure users are aware they are interacting with an AI bot and not a real person, terms like ‘AI’ or ‘Beta’ will be displayed alongside the bot’s responses. This will clarify that users are conversing with an AI-supported bot.
Instagram aims to enhance interaction and foster closer connections between content creators and their followers through this feature. AI chatbots could help content creators respond more quickly and effectively to their followers’ questions, potentially increasing both follower counts and overall user engagement on Instagram.
Following its rollout in the US, Instagram plans to gradually introduce this feature in other countries as well. What are your thoughts on this new feature? Share your opinions in the comments.
