Instagram has announced the new AI-powered Instagram Restyle tool for Stories. This feature allows users to edit both photos and videos with text commands using Meta AI.

How will the Instagram Restyle feature work?

After selecting a photo or video for Instagram Stories, users will see a new “Restyle” button at the top of the screen. This button will open the Meta AI-powered editing interface.

When sharing a photo, users can use preset effects. They can also enter text commands to modify the image. Instagram recommends entering detailed commands like “add a crown to a girl’s head” or “make it film noir” for better results.

This feature isn’t limited to photos. When sharing a video, users can choose from multiple AI-powered preset styles and effects. This makes it easy to give videos a different feel before sharing.

Instagram is also making this feature interactive. If a user adds an “Add Yours” sticker after making an edit, their friends can tap the sticker and apply the same AI edits to their own content.

Meta confirmed that the Restyle tool is available starting today. However, AI-related updates often take time to reach all users in markets where Meta AI is available.
