The company has announced that it is preparing a microcode patch to address the high operating voltage problem on these processors. Company employee Thomas Hannaford said in an Intel forum that this problem is caused by a microcode algorithm that causes incorrect voltage requests to be transmitted to the processors. Intel said it is working on a microcode patch to resolve this issue, which will be available to motherboard manufacturers in mid-August.
