ntel has released an update aimed at boosting the performance of its Arc graphics cards, a significant player in the CPU market. This update is specifically targeted at the Meteor Lake Intel Core Ultra processors equipped with integrated Intel Arc graphics cards. With this update, the performance of Intel Arc graphics cards is expected to increase by an average of 155%. But which games will benefit from this performance boost promised by the Intel Arc graphics card update?
Games with improved performance due to the Intel Arc graphics card update
With AMD and Nvidia focusing on high-end and mid-range graphics cards, the entry and mid-level segments of the graphics card market have weakened. Intel, recognizing this gap, is aiming to fill it with its Arc graphics cards.
However, since their initial release, Intel Arc graphics cards have faced criticism for their gaming performance. Nevertheless, processors such as the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, Ultra 5 125H, and Ultra 9 185H, which include Arc graphics cards, have received a DirectX 11 update. This update has led to a 7% to 155% increase in FPS frame rates in DirectX 11 supported games.
The most significant performance improvement was seen in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, with a 65% increase in frame rates. The largest increase in frame rates among games with DirectX 11 support was observed in Just Cause 4, with a 155% increase.
Despite the significant performance boost provided by the Intel Arc graphics card DirectX 11 update, it’s worth noting that most recent games typically have DirectX 12 support. Nonetheless, it’s important to acknowledge the progress Intel has made since the launch of Arc graphics cards.
When we previously thought that playing games with integrated graphics was a dream, Intel is actually meeting a significant need. However, Intel Arc graphics cards still lag behind in terms of artificial intelligence and gaming. Perhaps with the introduction of new Arc graphics cards, the tech giant may be able to address this weakness.
