Intel is preparing to officially announce its long-talked-about Panther Lake processors at its 2025 Tech Tour event. According to a new leak, the chip giant will unveil Panther Lake alongside its next-generation Xeon lineup at the event. Intel’s announcement on October 9th will mark the debut of its next-generation consumer chips.
Panther Lake series is coming
Panther Lake processors will be one of the first consumer-focused products based on Intel’s 18A manufacturing process. This series will also be the first processor family to feature Xe3 graphics.

The 18A process, which entered production in April, also introduces innovations such as the gate-all-around (GAA) transistor structure and back-side power delivery. According to the company, the 18A process provides a 15 percent increase in performance-to-watt ratio and a 30 percent improvement in chip density.
Previous leaks regarding the processor’s core layout confirmed that Panther Lake will feature a 12-core architecture. The core layout will consist of four Performance, four Efficiency, and four Low Power cores. It is also rumored that the processor will come with a 3.0 GHz base frequency and no Hyperthreading support.
The Panther Lake family is divided into two categories: PTL-H and PTL-U. The PTL-H series focuses on mid-range laptops, while the PTL-U models aim for low power consumption and long battery life.
Panther Lake, positioned as the latest processor family to utilize Intel’s Family 6 architecture, will usher in the company’s transition to the Family 18 architecture alongside Nova Lake. Event notes indicate that Intel specifically highlighted the 18A node in its presentations. However, efficiency issues remain in production. Mass production is expected in the fourth quarter of 2025.
