Last Tuesday, Apple introduced the iOS 17 operating system at the WWDC23 event. Among the features offered in this update, there were some changes to Apple’s messaging service, iMessage. However, these changes made to iMessage will cause issues for users in the Android messaging section. Here’s why!
The changes made to iMessage are negatively impacting Android users
With the introduction of iOS 17, several innovations arrived for iPhones. One of these innovations occurred in iMessage. The changes made to iMessage aim to improve the group chat experience for iPhone users, including those using Android and other platforms.
Additionally, iPhone users can now edit messages with high-level precision, reply to message threads, and send photos within groups. However, these new features create an opposite situation for Android users, negatively affecting their messaging experience.

So, Android users will not be able to see edited messages. Furthermore, replies to message threads will not appear in the correct order for Android users. Additionally, even photos and videos sent through group chats will lose their quality when they reach Android devices.
It is still uncertain whether these changes will persist in the final version of iOS 17. In conclusion, these modifications in iMessage enhance the experience for iPhone users but pose a significant problem for Android users. Whether the resulting negative outcome will change will be officially determined in September.
