Apple today released beta 2 of iOS 26.1, iPadOS 26.1, macOS Tahoe 26.1, tvOS 26.1, watchOS 26.1, and visionOS 26.1 to developers. These versions are available approximately two weeks after Apple’s initial beta release.
The new iOS 26.1 Beta 2 can be downloaded from Settings > General > Software Update on compatible devices.
The Apple Intelligence module now supports more languages. Turkish, Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Traditional Chinese, and Vietnamese are now supported with this release. Additionally, the “Live Translate” feature for AirPods now works with Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese.
Interface and User Experience Improvements
Features included in iOS 26.1 Beta 2 include:
- The keypad in the Phone app has been redesigned using Liquid Glass material. The video play bar in the Photos app has been revamped.
- Safari’s bottom control bar has been expanded, and navigation tabs have been made more prominent.
- Apple Music supports a new swipe gesture for switching between songs.
- Colored event labels are coming to the Calendar app.
Rapid Security Response has been replaced by Background Security Improvement, a rebranded mechanism. This system automatically prepares system files and security patches for the background and processes them before they appear on the user’s software update screen.
This version, currently in its second beta, is expected to be expanded with further innovations and improvements in future updates.
