Apple has released the highly anticipated iOS 26.2 Beta 2 for developers. This new version brings several significant changes that enhance the user experience. Visual improvements to the Measure app and system menus are particularly noteworthy. Here are the iOS 26.2 Beta 2 updates and all the details.
What’s New in iOS 26.2 Beta 2?
One of the most significant cosmetic changes in this update comes to the Measure app. The app’s spirit level feature now features a “Liquid Glass” design instead of two white circles. This design aligns with the new animations Apple showcased at WWDC. Furthermore, corner drop-down menus feature a faster and more flexible animation, giving the device interface a more fluid feel.

For gaming enthusiasts, a new feature has been added to the Library section of the Games app. Users can now sort their games by size, in addition to their name and last played date. CarPlay also has a significant improvement for the in-car user experience. The CarPlay app now supports the option to disable pinned messages in the Messages app, reducing driver distraction.
Apple has provided more information about Enhanced Safety Alerts, added in the first beta. These alerts allow you to receive notifications on your iPhone and Apple Watch about emergencies like earthquakes or floods. These alerts are sent over existing connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cellular data. Apple uses your device’s location to deliver these alerts to your current location. However, the company does not log your device’s location. These safety alerts are enabled by default.
Users can enable or disable the type of alerts they want by going to Settings > Notifications > Enhanced Alerts > Enhanced Safety Alerts. Apple also offers an option for “Improve Alert Delivery,” which uses your approximate location to improve the timing and reliability of alerts. For example, earthquake alerts can be delivered more quickly and reliably when this option is enabled. As with other security alerts, Apple does not store this approximate location.
To receive Enhanced Alerts, you must enable the Alerts and Shortcuts Automation setting in Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > System Services > Alerts & Shortcuts Automation. iOS 26.2 is expected to be generally available between December 9th and 16th.
