At today’s WWDC 2024 event, one of Apple’s biggest events, the company announced many new operating systems including iOS 18 and macOS 15. Among the introduced operating systems, iPadOS 18 attracted significant attention. With its new features and usability, it managed to capture the interest of iPad users. Here are the features of iPadOS 18…
iPadOS 18 stands out with new artificial intelligence features
Similar to iOS 18 in almost every aspect, iPadOS 18 comes with the latest artificial intelligence features. Notable innovations like advanced Siri usage, AI-supported writing capability, and content summaries are expected to greatly satisfy iPad users.
Presented as a version where almost all the features found in iOS 18 are adapted for larger screens, iPadOS 18 also comes with unique features. The long-awaited calculator is finally available. Additionally, improvements to Notes, Voice Memos, and more are among the innovations that come with the new version.
Unfortunately, some of the once-popular devices are not compatible with the new update released by Apple. The 6th generation iPad, 2nd generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro, and 1st generation 10.5-inch iPad Pro will not receive the iPadOS 18 update. The new version will be available for download on the 2019 and later iPad, 2019 and later iPad mini, 2019 and later iPad Air, and 2018 and later iPad Pro.
The iPadOS 18 introduced at the event will be available for testing throughout the summer for users registered in the developer program and beta program. The completed version will be announced at the event in September, where the iPhone 16 series will also be introduced.
With the new iPadOS 18 update, improvements in animations and applications have been made to provide a smoother usage and experience. Thanks to the SharePlay feature, remote control over the iPad will be possible, allowing interaction with drawings.
With the Smart Script feature, any text you copy can now replicate the handwritten style you write with an Apple Pencil on the Notes app. The newly added Calculator on iPads includes Apple Pencil support and math solutions. This means you will automatically receive answers in your handwriting style for any equation you create.
