Expected to be named A18 Pro in this generation, the processor is anticipated to power the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max models. However, reports indicate that the processor only offers a 10% performance increase compared to its predecessor, the A17 Pro. Considering the power speculated for Qualcomm’s recently announced Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor, this increase seems quite small.
In such a scenario, brands like Samsung, which use Snapdragon processors in their flagship phones, are expected to gain a competitive advantage over Apple. According to the initial Geekbench results, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 scored 3,500 points in single-core performance, while the A18 Pro fell short at 3,300 points.
