As it does each year, Apple aims to attract attention with its new iPhone series next year. After regaining momentum with the iPhone 16 series, which garnered praise for its design changes, Apple plans to introduce a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, featuring a thinner design. Here are the expected design and features of the iPhone 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Air Could be Powered by the A19 Processor
Apple, which introduced several innovations with the A18 chip, is set to upgrade to the A19 processor in the next series. While A19 Pro is anticipated for the Pro models, the iPhone 17 Air is expected to feature the A19 chip. Rumors also suggest that this model will come with 8GB of RAM. Like its predecessor, the A19 and A19 Pro will be based on a 3nm process, promising enhanced performance and efficiency.
One of the standout features of the iPhone 17 Air is its anticipated slim design, featuring only a single rear camera—a shift from the dual-camera design seen in the iPhone 16 series. This lone rear camera is expected to be 48 megapixels, while a 24-megapixel front camera is anticipated for selfies.
With the upcoming iOS 18.2 beta, Apple will enhance battery health features, including a feature that predicts your device’s charging time.
The iPhone 17 Air, noted for its thin profile, is expected to feature an aluminum-titanium alloy frame. However, Apple may adjust this design based on production costs to maintain high performance at a lower cost. According to reports, the device will have a 6.6-inch display with a resolution of 2740 x 1260 pixels. The screen will support ProMotion technology with a 120Hz refresh rate.
While the iPhone 17 Air is anticipated to be a more affordable device, it may still be priced higher than the Pro Max, with a possible starting price of $1,300.
