Apple’s next flagship, the iPhone 17 Pro Max, is expected to feature the most advanced telephoto camera on the market, with innovations poised to redefine current standards in mobile photography.

The Pro Max’s telephoto lens will include moving optical elements, allowing the camera to switch between multiple focal lengths. This enables the device to offer 5x and 8x optical zoom options within a single lens, breaking the traditional limitation of fixed focal lengths found in most telephoto cameras.

This major camera upgrade will also impact the phone’s design. Since a moving telephoto lens cannot fit into the existing layout, the iPhone 17 Pro Max will feature a larger camera module.
