Setsuna Digital, with 1.5 million followers on Weibo, China’s largest social media platform, claimed that the iPhone 18 series will not feature an under-display camera or Face ID.
According to the post, Apple will switch to a smaller Dynamic Island design for the iPhone 18, Pro, and Pro Max models compared to the current series. This change is said to give the devices a more modern feel by making the screen appear larger and more spacious.
No Under-Display Camera or Face ID
According to leaks, the iPhone 18 series will not feature under-display Face ID. Instead, a visible front camera will be housed within a smaller Dynamic Island. Furthermore, the under-display front camera will not be included on these models. Apple is said to have made this decision to preserve image quality and camera performance.

The new design will feature a physical camera hole in the reduced Dynamic Island. This camera will serve both the Face ID facial recognition system and photo and video recording.
The photos and information Setsuna Digital previously shared about the iPhone 17 series were proven accurate. Therefore, the iPhone 18 rumor seems likely to be true. However, there’s currently no official statement from Apple.
