Future iPhones could have brighter displays and efficiencies thanks to the Apple Watch Series 10. According to emerging reports, the iPhone 18 Pro family, which Apple will launch two years later, will incorporate LTPO3 displays used in the company’s latest smartwatch. Here are the details
iPhone 18 Pro will switch to LTPO3 technology
Currently, the iPhone 16 Pro uses LTPO2 technology, which is the same as the Apple Watch Series 9. However, according to the latest information, this situation seems to change in the next generation iPhones.
With this remarkable move, Apple will be able to be 40 per cent brighter with a higher refresh rate by consuming less energy even in standby mode of LTPO3.
The reason for this remarkable improvement is that LTPO3 uses a newer low-temperature polycrystalline silicon oxide (LTPS) TFT panel that consumes less power when the refresh rate is low.
Moreover, this new version increases the light intensity of the display, allowing each pixel to be optimised to emit light from wider angles.
Therefore, since Apple has not yet released the iPhone 17 Pro with LTPO2 display, it seems possible that the iPhone 18 Pro or iPhone 19 Pro will have this new technology.
