According to new industry claims, Apple is preparing to launch under-display camera technology on the iPhone 19 Pro. According to a report citing a Chinese source, the Pro series, expected to be introduced in 2027, may feature this new technology.
2027 Expected for iPhone 19 Pro Under-Display Camera Technology
Leaks regarding Apple’s roadmap continue. It’s claimed that the company will incorporate TrueDepth Face ID under the display on the iPhone 18 Pro series, but will keep the selfie camera in a punch-hole. However, the real transition could occur with the iPhone 19 Pro series, expected in 2027, where both Face ID and the camera could be completely hidden under the display.

Allegations suggest that Apple may first test the under-display selfie camera before the iPhone 19 Pro. This technology could be included in the first foldable iPhone, expected next year. Expected to be released by the end of 2026, this device is rumored to break new ground with a high-resolution 24-megapixel under-display camera on its inner screen.
Other details about the foldable model
The iPhone Fold, potentially named the iPhone Fold, may not offer any major design surprises. The device is reportedly 4.5 mm thin when unfolded and will feature a custom foldable OLED display manufactured by Samsung Display. It’s also expected to feature a body made of a combination of titanium and aluminum for durability.
