Apple revolutionized the smartphone world with its first iPhone model in 2007. Now, all eyes are on the 20th anniversary of this legendary series, in 2027. According to recent reports circulating in the technology world, Apple is planning radical changes to the iPhone 20 design for this special year. Allegedly, the company will skip the iPhone 19 name and directly release a completely bezel-less and futuristic model specifically for the 20th anniversary.
iPhone 20 Design: Boundaries Disappear
According to reliable industry sources, the iPhone 20, expected to be released in the third quarter of 2027, will feature an unconventional screen technology. The most striking feature of this new model is called the “four-sided bending design.” Thanks to this technology, there will be no bezels or cutouts on the front of the device.

Unlike current models, which only curve on the sides, this screen will have a curved structure on both the top and bottom, aiming to offer users a truly “full-screen” experience. With camera holes and sensor notches completely hidden under the screen, the iPhone 20’s front surface will have a seamless glass appearance. This will be the closest design to Apple’s long-held dream of a “one-piece glass” display.
Bringing this ambitious design to life presents significant challenges, not only at the design stage but also on the production line. However, LG Display, one of Apple’s display suppliers, has already begun preparations to overcome this challenge. Reports indicate that LG has made a massive investment of approximately $300 million to adapt its production facilities to this new screen technology.
This investment will be used to overhaul production lines and precisely manufacture four-sided curved screens. LG’s move is seen as the most concrete evidence of how serious Apple is about its 20th-anniversary device and how it is already preparing its supply chain for this major change. The iPhone 20 could be more than just a name change; it could mark the beginning of a new era in smartphone design.
