At its highly anticipated September event, Apple unveiled the newest member of its iPhone lineup: the iPhone Air. This device, replacing the Plus model, is eye-catching with its 5.5-millimeter thickness. Making history as Apple’s thinnest iPhone yet, it surpasses the 6.9-millimeter iPhone 6.
iPhone Air Officially Announced
To maintain its ultra-thin design, the iPhone Air features a single rear camera. This camera is a 48MP wide-angle sensor, similar to the one found in the other iPhone 17 models. On the front, there’s a 24MP selfie camera. The device’s overall design features a similar edge-to-edge camera line to the Google Pixel phones. Dynamic Island also remains in this model.

The new iPhone features a 6.6-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display. Powered by 120Hz ProMotion technology, this display offers users an incredibly smooth experience. At the heart of the device is the A19 Pro processor, also found in the other iPhone 17 series.
However, the A19 Pro used in this model comes with a 5-core GPU. The device’s 8GB of RAM fully supports Apple Intelligence features. Storage options range from 128GB to 512GB.

The iPhone Air is equipped with a 2,800mAh battery. Offering up to 22 hours of battery life, the device also features 35W fast charging and MagSafe support. The phone runs iOS 26 out of the box and also features next-generation features such as an Apple-made 5G modem, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3. It’s also been reported that it will be available only with an eSIM version in some regions.
Apple launched the iPhone Air starting at $899. The 256GB model is available for $999, and the 512GB model for $1,199. The device is available in light blue, light gold, black, and silver.
