With less than four months left until the launch of the iPhone 15 and 15 Pro, rumors about the next generation of Apple phones have started gaining momentum. There have been numerous claims about the iPhone 15 models thus far. However, the latest claim pertains to the iPhone 16 models.
Apple returns to old camera layout with iPhone 16
According to these claims, Apple will retain the camera layout used in the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 for the iPhone 15 models, but a new camera layout awaits us with the iPhone 16. Allegedly, Apple will bid farewell to the diagonal arrangement of the cameras and return to a vertical camera setup.
When Apple introduced dual cameras for the first time in its phones with the iPhone 7 Plus model, it opted for a horizontal arrangement. Approximately two years later, with the unveiling of the iPhone X model, the company made a significant design change and chose a vertical camera placement.
However, Apple abandoned the vertical arrangement with the iPhone 13 and adopted a diagonal arrangement. By using the diagonal placement, the company made room for larger lenses within the camera island. Since then, Apple has maintained this layout for its standard models, but it seems they want to change this with the iPhone 16.
It can be said that this move by the American tech giant is more of a sales strategy than a technical detail, as they aim to increase the recognition of the new iPhone models, which have become a status symbol, by changing the camera layout.
An Apple analyst named URedditor suggests that besides the vertical camera layout, there may be another design in the realm of possibilities. However, other details about the phone, which has been announced for over a year, are still unclear.
With the iPhone 16, Apple appears to be making a significant design change to entice customers to purchase the new phone. What are your thoughts on iPhone models and camera layouts? Feel free to share your opinions in the comments section.
