The incident in Turkey, shared by the user named Fatih Aldemir on social media. Fatih Aldemir stated that after his wife’s traffic accident, the iPhone’s automatic accident detection feature was activated and notified 112 Emergency Call Centre directly. According to the post, gendarmerie and ambulance teams arrived at the scene in about 10 minutes after the accident.
Fatih Aldemir used the following statements in his post: ‘Friends, my wife had an accident, thanks to the technology, iPhone realised that she had an accident and informed 112. Within 10 minutes the gendarmerie ambulance arrived. Fortunately, even her nose did not bleed, but she could not get out alone because she was stuck in the vehicle.’
In order to show the extent of the accident, he added a photo of the vehicle, which had flipped over and turned upside down, heavily damaged after it was straightened with the help of a crane. This situation clearly revealed the seriousness of the impact of the vehicle.
Automatic accident detection, which is among the life-saving features Apple offers in products such as iPhone and Apple Watch, makes emergency calls directly if users cannot take any intervention.
Thanks to this feature, the device can detect the severity of the accident through sensors and automatically connect with emergency services even when the user is unconscious or unable to move.
