Apple is set to release the iPhone 15 models in September. As the unveiling date for the new generation iPhone models approaches, new information about Apple’s signature smartphones surfaces every day. Some iPhone models uncovered in the tvOS 17 Beta version also include models that Apple has never produced, in addition to the iPhone 15.
We might see the iPhone SE 4 in September
A Twitter user named Aaron has uncovered iPhone codes that were previously undetected until the fourth beta version of tvOS 17. These new phones, coded as ‘iPhone15,4‘, ‘iPhone15,5‘, ‘iPhone16,1‘, and ‘iPhone16,2‘, point to the upcoming generation of iPhone models from Apple.
Among these model codes with connections to Apple’s processors, the ‘iPhone16,1‘ and ‘iPhone16,2‘ indicate the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max (Ultra) models, both equipped with the A17 Bionic processor. On the other hand, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models, equipped with the A16 Bionic processor, will be part of the ‘iPhone15,x‘ family.
In addition, the tvOS 17 beta version lists two more different iPhone models. These previously unannounced models are referred to as ‘iPhone14,1‘ and ‘iPhone14,9‘. From this, we understand that both phones belong to the A15 Bionic processor family. However, identifying these two unreleased models is quite challenging.
Nevertheless, there are several claims about these mysterious phones. Some analysts argue that the as-yet-unrevealed phones indicate a 4th generation iPhone SE. According to rumors, Apple might release the new iPhone SE model with a Type-C connection and an A15 Bionic processor. The addition of the Type-C connection is suggested as the reason for the delay of the new phone until now.
Previously, rumors suggested that Apple would introduce a larger-screen iPhone SE model based on the iPhone X body in the past months. Although it was later postponed to 2024, we might see the iPhone SE 4 model at the event scheduled for September.
