Samsung is the leader of pen devices in the smartphone world. Especially the Galaxy S Ultra series is among the models where the S Pen is best integrated. However, recent developments indicate that Samsung is preparing to completely remove the S Pen feature. The removal of the S Pen’s Bluetooth and gyroscope features in the Galaxy S25 Ultra model also strengthens the rumours in this direction.
Will Samsung remove the S Pen?
According to a survey conducted by Samsung, only 1% of Galaxy users actively use these features. However, this rate covers thousands of users and Samsung is criticised for ignoring the demands of this audience.

S Pen
It is known that the S Pen offers a great advantage, especially as a remote camera shutter, and it is thought that the company is trying to direct this function to the Galaxy Watch. In addition, the fact that no alternative is offered to replace the removed Bluetooth support also draws the reaction of users.
Despite this, the S Pen still continues to function as a powerful pen offering 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. However, these changes suggest that Samsung is moving towards completely removing the S Pen.

It is observed that Samsung is gradually ‘weakening’ the S Pen in the Galaxy S series. If this trend continues, the Galaxy S26 Ultra model may come completely without the S Pen. The company may justify this change with the use of larger batteries and more efficient placement of internal components.
S Pen
This transformation is a big change, especially for Ultra models that continue the legacy of the Galaxy Note series. If Samsung completely removes the S Pen, this may mean that we will say goodbye to the Galaxy Note era.
On the other hand, there is a possibility that Samsung will remove the S Pen from phones and make it an independent accessory. This strategy may make it possible to provide S Pen support in more models and make the pen portable with special cases. It can also create an additional source of income for Samsung. However, for Bluetooth-enabled S Pen fans, this may mean a significant loss.
