While the world’s eyes are on the models to be introduced this coming September, the leak community is already focusing on the 2026 iPhone 18 series. Recent information from reliable sources in the tech world is set to surprise “Pro” series users. Black, a long-standing classic and one of the most preferred colors by users, may not find a place in the iPhone 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max models.
Black is Out, Vibrant Tones are In
According to China-based leak sources and supply chain reports, Apple plans to continue the “blackless” strategy it allegedly started with the iPhone 17 Pro series into the iPhone 18 Pro models. Having shifted toward more metallic and polished tones instead of black in the previous generation, the tech giant is preparing to experiment with a much bolder palette for its next-gen devices.

So, what will replace black? According to claims, Apple is currently concentrating on three main colors:
- Deep Red: A highly saturated and sophisticated shade between burgundy and purple.
- Coffee Brown: A dignified, earth-toned option designed to harmonize with the titanium frame.
- Purple: A tone familiar from previous generations, but this time featuring a darker, matte finish.
Color-Centric Strategy Over Radical Design Shifts
Industry analysts state that Apple is likely to largely maintain the form factor (chassis structure) in the iPhone 18 series. At this point, the biggest visual differentiator to attract users is expected to be the color options. However, the absence of black has already sparked debate among user groups who prefer dark tones like “Space Gray” or “Graphite” for their professional appearance.
Conversely, the same leaks indicate that Apple may be more conservative with its first “Foldable iPhone” (iPhone Fold), expected to debut in September, by offering classic colors like black and space gray for that specific model. It appears Apple aims to move standard Pro models toward a more colorful “lifestyle” position while preserving classic elegance for its foldable and ultra-premium models.
What Else to Expect from the iPhone 18 Pro?
The leaks aren’t limited to colors; they also provide important clues regarding the device’s technical details:
- Shrinking Dynamic Island: With improvements in under-display sensor technologies, the Dynamic Island on the front is rumored to become physically smaller.
- Variable Aperture Camera: There is talk of moving to a mechanical variable aperture structure on the main camera of Pro models to optimize light control.
- A20 Processor and RAM: Along with the new A20 chip built on a 2-nanometer architecture, all models are expected to be upgraded to a 12 GB RAM standard.
