The China-based short video platform RedNote is witnessing a massive surge in users as the TikTok ban looms closer. Known as Xiaohongshu (“Little Red Book”) in China, the app has climbed to the top spot on the Apple App Store and currently sits at 34th place on the Google Play Store.
The potential ban of TikTok in the U.S. is pushing users to explore alternatives, with RedNote emerging as one of the most popular options. A thriving community has quickly formed on the app, with experienced users even welcoming newcomers from TikTok as “TikTok refugees” and sharing friendly, humorous content to make them feel at home.
