JBL has added a new model to its portable audio product line. The company has introduced the Grip Bluetooth speaker to the Chinese market. Designed specifically for outdoor use and vibrant social gatherings, the speaker, priced at $110, stands out for its physical durability and sound quality.
JBL Unveils Its New Bluetooth Speaker
At the heart of the JBL Grip is a 32 x 80 mm driver with a 16-watt output. Supporting frequencies from 70Hz to 20kHz, the device delivers a balanced sound profile from deep bass to high tones.
The speaker’s Bluetooth 5.4 technology provides advantages such as connection stability, low latency, and fast pairing. Thanks to Auracast support, multiple JBL Grips can be connected together, providing a wider soundstage.
The Grip stands out for its enhanced durability against harsh outdoor conditions. Thanks to its IP68-certified construction, the device is completely dustproof and can operate underwater up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes. It also withstands drops from 1 meter. These features make the speaker particularly suitable for outdoor activities and travel.
The device’s battery capacity provides up to 12 hours of continuous playback under standard use. This can be extended to 14 hours by activating Boost+ mode. The speaker can be fully charged via USB-C in approximately 3 hours with a 5V/3A adapter. This charging time allows for quick reuse, especially during intensive use.
The JBL Grip’s design prioritizes both functionality and aesthetics. The device weighs 385 grams in total and measures 152.5 x 64 x 65.2 mm. Rubber bases prevent slipping on smooth surfaces, while a rope hook detail allows the speaker to be secured to bags or bicycle handlebars.
The product also features a lighting system equipped with visual effects. This system, consisting of four different colors, offers various options such as breathing mode, ambient light, and rhythmic light synchronized with music. Color temperature and brightness settings can be customized via the JBL Portable app.
The Grip is initially available in four colors: Snow White, Pomegranate Red, Midnight Black, and Verbena Blue. JBL plans to introduce new color variants such as Grape Blue and Grapefruit Orange in the future.
