JCB launched the Toughphone series in the UK

Today, the British heavy equipment manufacturer, JCB, launched two new rugged Android smartphones in the UK. The new JCB Toughphone and Toughphone Max come with significant certificates, including MIL-SPEC 810G and dust and water resistance for a great protection. JCB Toughphones are powered by MediaTek chipsets

The newest JCB Toughphone series comes with MediaTek chipsets. While the Toughphone is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, the Toughphone Max has a MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Although these phones are not focused on technical specs, they have mid-range specs in the market.

JCB’s latest rugged phones have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance at up to 1.5m of water for 30 minutes. Also, the Toughphone features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch for the 20-megapixel selfie camera. The Max model comes with a 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen with FHD+ resolution, and it has a 20-megapixel selfie camera housed inside a punch-hole cutout. Both smartphones have Gorilla Glass-protected screens with added drop protection and pre-applied glass screen protectors.

Toughphone features a 20-megapixel rear camera, while the Max model is equipped with a 48-megapixel main, a 16-megapixel ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel macro camera on the back. The basic version has a 4,050mAh battery, and the Max variant has a 12,200mAh battery which is claimed to last up to 30 days.

While the phones are not offered in various color options, the Toughphone costs £300 while the Toughphone Max is priced at £600. The deliveries will start in the middle of July.
