The first concrete data on Samsung’s highly anticipated new flagship series has arrived. The recently surfaced Galaxy S26 Geekbench scores have created a buzz in the tech world, offering significant clues about the devices’ hardware specifications and performance potential. These early listings reveal the power of both the standard and Ultra models in the series.
What Do the Galaxy S26 Geekbench Scores Reveal?
In the Geekbench database, the unlocked US versions of the Galaxy S26 Ultra (SM-S948U) and the Galaxy S26 (SM-S942U) have been listed. These listings confirm that both devices will ship with 12GB of RAM and the Android 16 operating system. Furthermore, Samsung is expected to pair this new Android version with its One UI 8.5 interface.
However, the most striking detail emerged from the processor information. Both phones are powered by a custom chipset, identified from CPU and GPU data as the “Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy.” This specialized system-on-a-chip features two high-performance cores running at 4.19GHz and six efficiency cores at 3.55GHz. Additionally, it includes an Adreno 840 graphics unit.

This information indicates that Samsung is once again collaborating with Qualcomm for a specially optimized processor for its Galaxy series. Interestingly, this custom version appears to have slightly lower clock speeds compared to the standard Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which can reach up to 4.6GHz. This is likely a deliberate choice to enhance power efficiency and improve thermal management.
Performance Comparison: S26 vs. S26 Ultra
When looking at the performance scores, a surprising picture emerges. The Galaxy S26 Ultra achieved a single-core score of 3,466 points and a multi-core score of 11,035 points. On the other hand, the standard Galaxy S26 model posted a single-core score of 3,378 points and a multi-core score of 11,097 points. This shows the base model performing very closely to the Ultra, and even slightly better in the multi-core test.
These initial test results suggest that Samsung is internally testing the performance of the S26 series weeks ahead of its official announcement. According to the latest reports, the company is expected to unveil the Galaxy S26 series on February 26th, with a global sales launch in March. These figures signal that the new series will be a strong contender in terms of performance.
