Google is working to bring Quick Share, a popular file-sharing tool among Android users, to iPhones. This development has been confirmed by code discovered in the beta version of Google Play Services. These previously mentioned rumors are now back on solid ground.
Quick Share will be coming to iPhones
Quick Share was introduced last year as a unified platform for Android devices through a partnership between Google and Samsung. Now, the feature is planned to be integrated into iOS so Android users can easily send files to iPhone owners.

This aims to eliminate the obstacles that have previously made file transfers between different operating systems difficult. This step from Google offers a significant alternative, especially compared to Apple’s AirDrop feature, which only works within its own ecosystem.
However, there is one interesting detail about this new integration: logging in to a Google account is required to send files from Android to iPhone. This is not required when sharing files from Android to Android. This suggests that Quick Share may require authentication through Google apps for it to work on iPhone.
It’s not yet clear how the feature will work exactly or what its limitations will be. However, it will undoubtedly make file transfers between Android and iOS much more convenient. There’s no set date for when the iPhone-compatible version of Quick Share will be generally available, but its integration with Google Play Services suggests that work is progressing rapidly.
