Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch shared important details about Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) Remake in his latest interview. The game, initially announced in 2021, has undergone numerous changes over the past three years. In fact, before Saber, it was being developed by a different studio.
Star Wars KOTOR Remake is not dead
After Saber Interactive’s departure from the Embracer Group, CEO Matthew Karch confirmed that Saber holds the rights to the KOTOR Remake. Regarding the matter, Karch said, “We are actively working on this game. It has been covered extensively in the press. What I will say is that the game is alive and well.”
Despite providing assurance about the game, Karch did not share details about the development process or release date. Embracer CEO Lars Wingefors also mentioned during an investor meeting that there could still be a “significant period” ahead for KOTOR Remake.
