Linda Yaccarino is the new CEO of Twitter. The new CEO took office as of today. Elon Musk said on his Twitter account last month, “Excited to announce that I’ve hired a new CEO for X/Twitter. She will be starting in ~6 weeks! My role will transition to being exec chair & CTO, overseeing product, software & sysops.” and made the expected confirmation: “I’m thrilled to welcome Linda Yaccarino as Twitter’s new CEO, where I will focus on product design and new technologies, while Linda will focus primarily on overall operations. I look forward to working with Linda to transform this platform into X, the one app for everything.”

Yaccarino, who previously worked at NBCUniversal, where she was a senior executive, begins her Twitter adventure with former NBCUniversal Vice President Joe Benarroch, who recently joined the company. Yaccarino and Benarroch, who also worked together at NBCUniversal, will make Twitter much bigger, or in other words more active, especially in advertising.
In all probability, Twitter will soon start hosting more ads than we’ve ever seen before. So many will be forced to become paid “Blue” subscribers, even if they don’t want to. The bad news is that Blue subscribers can’t completely remove ads right now. The monthly subscription package still only removes half of the ads, which is very strange.
Elon Musk recently launched a poll on Twitter. More than 17 million votes came to this poll, which was specifically about leaving the CEO of Twitter. The result of the poll, which ended on the same day, was “yes” with 57.5 percent. Musk, who later made a statement on this issue, said, “I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job! After that, I will just run the software & servers teams.”
