Little Devil Inside was once the darling of indie crowdfunding a stylized RPG bursting with Studio Ghibli energy and lofty ambition. But nearly ten years later, what was meant to launch in 2016 has become a case study in broken promises. With missed deadlines, unclear platform plans, and sparse updates, frustration among backers is boiling over.
Little Devil Inside still without release date after nearly a decade

The project first hit Kickstarter in 2015, led by brothers Kody and J.J. Lee under their studio Neostream Interactive. Based in Seoul, the team pitched a visually distinct action-adventure RPG with hand-crafted art and quirky storytelling. Their campaign surpassed its AUD 250,000 goal in days and promised delivery by late 2016.
That delivery never came.
Since then, the studio has moved the goalposts multiple times, citing new tech, internal reshuffles, and scope changes. Release windows came and went: 2016, 2018, 2021, and 2022 none of them stuck. The game still hasn’t launched, and worse, it still has no confirmed release date.
Kickstarter backers left in the dark and growing resentful
The last notable update from Neostream came in April 2024. It was thin on details but heavy with familiar apologies. The studio admitted to downsizing, shifting to Unreal Engine, and rethinking its structure, but offered little in the way of clarity.
One quote stood out: “We know this doesn’t and shouldn’t justify for all the delays and lack of news but we’re still here, have been and always will be.” That might offer comfort to some, but not to many who feel their early pledges were met with radio silence and vague reassurances.
The Kickstarter page still lists the original 2016 release date, with dozens of unanswered comments from users calling the project “a scam.” Compounding the confusion is the removal of the game’s Steam page, the dead-end updates, and growing suspicion about a quiet shift toward PlayStation exclusivity.
A game stuck in limbo, despite platform hints and promo trailers
Little Devil Inside appeared in PlayStation’s official showcase and still has a live PS Store page listed as “announced” for PS4 and PS5. There’s also loose talk of Xbox and Switch ports, but no mention of a firm PC launch. Even Neostream’s official site remains outdated and unsecured still displaying a Windows logo despite Steam support being quietly dropped years ago.
What’s still unclear in 2025:
- Will Kickstarter backers get their promised rewards?
- Is the PC version still coming?
- Who’s publishing the game?
- When will Neostream give a real, dated update?
A cautionary tale dressed in pretty pixels
Little Devil Inside may one day release. But as of now, it lives in a frustrating space between beautiful promise and broken trust. For some backers, hope remains tentatively aimed at 2026. For others, this has already become a decade-long disappointment they’d rather forget.
And for Neostream, every silence speaks louder than their last apology.
