Tesla is taking a new step against the long-discussed energy loss during idle. Codes discovered in the company’s mobile app reveal the arrival of the “Low Power Mode” feature with the upcoming software update 2025.32. This new feature offers a significant solution, especially for drivers who have to park their vehicles for extended periods.
Tesla cars will offer Low Power Mode
With a single touch, the new mode turns off many of Tesla’s energy-consuming features while idling. These functions include frequently used modes such as Smart Summon, security, and camp mode.

However, Tesla doesn’t offer this feature as a strict shutdown system, but rather as a control tool that offers flexibility to the user. This means that disabled features can be manually reactivated if desired.
Low Power Mode can be easily turned on and off both from the in-car menu and the Tesla mobile app. Users can also set the mode to automatically activate when the battery drops below a certain level. This feature automatically switches the vehicle to energy-saving mode during long vacations or business trips.
Previously, each function had to be disabled individually. The new mode consolidates these operations into a single button, preventing unnecessary battery drain. With this move, Tesla offers a definitive and clear solution to one of the biggest complaints of car owners.
