Apple has unveiled the next generation Mac mini.Powered by the M4 and M4 Pro chips, this computer stands out with its compact design of only 12.7 cm2. So what does the renewed Mac mini promise? Here are the details.
What does the M4 Mac mini promise?
According to Apple, the new M4 chip offers up to 1.8 times faster CPU and 2.2 times faster GPU performance compared to the M1 model. An M4 Pro option will also be available, further boosting performance for intensive operations.
Despite its small size, the new Mac mini can perform up to 6 times faster than Windows desktops in the same price range. Compared to Intel-based Mac mini models, it provides speed boosts for tasks such as sound effects processing, gaming and photo editing.
Some of the key performance advantages offered by the M4 include 33 times faster photo enlargement, 13.3 times faster gaming performance and up to 2.8 times more audio plug-in support. Compared to the M1 Mac mini, M4 is up to 2x faster at AI tasks and up to 4.9x faster at panoramic photo stitching.
In addition to its powerful performance, the new Mac mini offers advanced connectivity options with its ports. The M4 Pro model will also feature Thunderbolt 5 technology. Both models come with 16GB of RAM. Available for pre-order starting at $599, the new Mac mini will go on sale on November 8.
