Days before Donald Trump’s inauguration as President of the United States, interesting developments began to take place in the Foxconn India factory. As you know, Foxconn, which manufactures iPhone 17 in China, is trying to move its assembly factory to India.
Trump opposed Apple’s production in China during his first term, and at that time, the US began to embargo major Chinese brands such as Huawei. According to new information, the Chinese government is trying to take measures against Foxconn’s move to India. This situation may also cause a delay in iPhone 17 production.
Foxconn India factory came to a standstill! iPhone 17 production may be delayed
Apple and Foxconn are looking to move some of the assembly of the new iPhone to an Indian factory. The factory became ready in April 2024, and production machines and skilled Chinese technical workers from Foxconn’s China factory have started to transition to this factory.

However, according to a new leak from within Foxconn, China has made a decision that could cause a delay for iPhone 17 production. Accordingly, the Chinese government does not allow the Chinese technical team, which undertakes important tasks in the factory, to go to India. Again, the transportation of some machines in the factory, which are critical for production, to India was blocked by China.
Apple and Foxconn officials have not yet made a statement on the subject. For the moment, it is known that the Foxconn India factory is not ready for iPhone production. However, Foxconn, which will soon start the production process, was expected to move the new iPhone production to India.
It is estimated that iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max models will continue to be produced in China. However, it was claimed that both the basic model and 17 Slim production would be in India.
After the Chinese government did not allow the Chinese technical team, Foxconn started sending Taiwanese technical teams to India. However, the biggest problem is that India does not have the necessary machinery supply for smartphone production. The Chinese government has been experiencing tensions in foreign relations with India, especially recently.
In this sense, it seems that it will not allow Foxconn to switch to India for iPhone 17 production. As a solution, Apple and Foxconn have the possibility of realising iPhone 17 production in the Chinese factory again.
So, do you think the production process of models such as iPhone 17, 18 may also be disrupted after Donald Trump becomes President of the United States again? We look forward to your comments and opinions.
