Windows 11 is in a constant state of evolution, receiving regular updates to enhance user experience. The first major update for Windows 11 was the 22H2 version released last year. Since then, smaller updates have been introduced, adding new features and capabilities. However, we’re not too far from the next significant update for Windows 11, which is the 23H2 version.
Massive update for Windows 11: The 23H2 update!
While Microsoft has not officially announced Windows 11 version 23H2 yet, this update is anticipated to arrive in the coming months. Thanks to the Windows Insider program, where many Windows 11 features are previewed, and the recent announcements from Build 2023, we have some insights into what to expect when the update does arrive.
“Microsoft has been increasingly embracing artificial intelligence in recent months, and their next step involves Windows. During Build 2023, Microsoft announced Windows Copilot, an AI assistant powered by large language models like GPT-4, designed to help you accomplish nearly everything on your computer.
Windows Copilot can perform many tasks similar to what Bing Chat can do. While Copilot is not yet available in preview, we don’t have firsthand knowledge of all its capabilities. However, according to Microsoft’s announcement, its potential seems quite significant.”
With the upcoming release, the File Explorer based on WinUI 3 is also being refreshed. While Windows 11’s original version already brought a refresh, Microsoft has decided to revise it once again. Additionally, a long-requested feature, a new audio mixer, is being introduced. With this update, you’ll be able to access the audio level mixer more easily by simply pressing Windows + Ctrl + V keys.
Windows 11 version 23H2 aims to simplify the management of RGB lighting effects for your connected peripherals with a new Dynamic Lighting page in the Settings app. This feature will be especially useful for those who use devices from multiple brands, and it’s been a requested feature for years. With this addition, you’ll be able to manage the lighting effects for all your devices from a single page.
Microsoft is also updating Windows Spotlight. By now supporting 4K wallpapers, Windows Spotlight is becoming more convenient for users with high-resolution displays. Additionally, new emojis are on the way, and some emojis will undergo redesigns.
With this update, Microsoft is introducing a new entry page to the Settings app, making your most relevant settings quickly accessible. This settings page will learn from your usage patterns and provide cards for quick access to the settings you’re likely to need the most. Moreover, the new version will also support HDR wallpapers and allow you to set .JXR format images as wallpapers.
