With the introduction of the new operating system Windows 11 into our lives last year, Microsoft has been working to resolve long-standing issues that have been bothering users. While almost all of these problems have been resolved, the company has shifted its focus to new features in recent months.
In recent weeks, Microsoft brought dynamic refresh rate to multi-monitor setups for gamers on Windows 11, and now they have begun testing the highly anticipated feature of allowing users to remove default applications that are unwanted by the majority of users.
Windows 11 users will soon be able to remove default applications!
One of the most frustrating aspects for Windows users has undoubtedly been the inability to uninstall applications that come pre-installed, such as Photos, Camera, and People. Users were forced to keep these applications on their devices even if they didn’t intend to use them.
It seems that Microsoft has taken action to address this issue. In fact, with the recently released update numbered 25931 in the Canary channel for Windows 11, users can now remove the aforementioned default applications.
This innovation will allow users to free up a little storage space on their devices by uninstalling apps that take up unnecessary space. This feature will also be a lifeline for systems with low-level hardware, providing users with a sense of freedom.
Currently, it’s not known when the ability to remove default applications, accessible to beta users in the Canary channel, will be available to everyone. However, speculations suggest that this won’t take a long time.
Furthermore, Microsoft also resolved the issue of SSD slowing down in Windows 11 with the August update released a few days ago. Although some users still report that the problem persists, it seems to have been largely resolved.
