According to BleepingComputer, the Dr. Web antivirus team first reported these particular malicious apps, identifying 28 apps on the Play Store that contained dangerous designed to subscribe users to paid services, break into social media accounts, and serve up fraudulent ads.
Upon installation, the apps request permission to overlay windows over any app and can add themselves to the battery saver’s exclusion list so they can continue running in the background when the user closes the app. To conceal their identity, they either remove their icons from your phone’s app launcher or replace them with system icons.
