There are exciting developments happening in the gaming world right now. It’s claimed that Sony will hold a State of Play event in February and a new God of War project might be announced at the event. So how accurate are these claims? Is Kratos returning to Greece? Details are in our news…
State of Play might start between February 12-14: New God of War announcement on the way!
Tom Henderson, one of the reliable names in the gaming industry, said in Insider Gaming’s latest podcast episode that Sony will hold a State of Play event between February 12-14 and we should be ready for a new God of War announcement. The claim is also supported by leaker NateTheHate, who previously predicted the Nintendo Switch 2 announcement.
Is Kratos returning to Greece?

One of the most striking details shared by Henderson is the claim that the new God of War will take young Kratos back to Greece. Actually, this rumor somewhat contradicts previous leaks. Earlier, there was talk about Kratos possibly entering Egyptian mythology in the new game and encountering gods like Anubis. Perhaps the story could take place in both Greece and Egypt.
Sony’s PlayStation State of Play presentation might take place on February 14, and new game announcements are expected along with it.
Another possibility is that Sony might actually be working on a remaster or collection containing the original God of War games instead of a new game. If a return to Greece is really happening, this could be a version of the first four games adapted for modern platforms.
While we don’t have definitive information right now, it’s quite likely that a major God of War announcement will be made at the State of Play event. Whether we’ll see a new game or a remaster, we’ll find out soon.
So what do you think about this claim? Do you think the new game should take place in Greece or Egypt? You can share your thoughts in the comments section below…
